PICME PERFORMANCE

The Challenge How do we create a performance about contemporary queer culture without simply reproducing its aesthetics? In an era shaped by dating apps, nightlife and social media, PICME explores the constant search for recognition, belonging and external validation, asking how these invisible forces influence our bodies, relationships and sense of self. The Process The project was developed through artistic research, combining choreography, theatre, video, voice, object work and circus techniques. Drawing from personal experiences, observations and collaborative experimentation, the creative process transformed everyday social rituals into performative material. The Performance Rather than telling a linear story, PICME creates an immersive journey through different emotional and social landscapes. The audience encounters moments of intimacy, humor, desire and vulnerability while moving through a performance that blurs the boundaries between theatre, dance and lived experience. The Outcome Premiered in Barcelona with an international creative team, PICME continues to evolve as an ongoing artistic research. The project serves as a platform for future festivals, residencies and international collaborations, while inviting audiences to reflect on a simple yet unsettling question: Are we acting from our own desires, or from the expectations of others?
